For 3 years she was the lead singer of a Death Metal band. Now Cloudy June is going solo, reaching fans all across the globe with her new music.

Titled “one of Berlin’s promising emerging songwriters“ in early 2019, the young self-made musician counts over 1.2 Million streams on Spotify today. Though her first demos, which she released on SoundCloud at the age of 14, were only meant for her friends.

Cloudy wrote her first songs in elementary school. At 16, she became part of the band New Greed, with whom she played her first gigs and — inspired by bands like Arch Enemy — she began to learn the art of metal-screaming. Shortly before she quit, Cloudy released an EP with her band.

To focus on her solo career, the young artist left the band after 3 years and recorded her first solo EP with her best friend at the end of 2018.

But Cloudy's music underwent another complete change.

From a few hundred to over 80,000 monthly listeners on Spotify in a year – Cloudy is rapidly gaining new fans around the world.

With a new look, a new team and a new sound Cloudy June released her kick-off single of 2020 in April – 'High Waist to Hell' – and made it into the Top 30 of the Hype Machine Charts and Top 5 on SubmitHub.

Spotify also discovered the half-Cuban artist and secured her a place in the coveted Fresh Finds: Pop Editorial Playlist with 'High Waist to Hell'.

After Cloudy discovered the app TikTok during the lockdown, she began to shoot and post the first clips to her songs.

She had her first major success on the platform with her single 'Pretty Pills for Broken Hearts'. A video by Cloudy posted of the track in August 2020 reached 50,000 views in a short time, after which over 300 users made their own videos to her song. Today, Pretty Pills for Broken Hearts has 1 million streams on Spotify.

But the independent artist is celebrating her greatest success to date with her single 'Unthinkable', which she released in May 2021. After her video for the track went viral on TikTok with over 200,000 views in one day, the young artist suddenly had twice as many followers on her profile and reached over 16,000 Spotify streams on release day without big playlist support

From an insider tip to an international newcomer: Cloudy June is definitely one of the up-and-coming artists to watch in 2021.
